She's gonna run away tonight. Left a note by the telephone to let 'em know, she'd be alright. She don't care where she's going to. "Cause shes at the end of the rope she wove, and she don't know what else to do.
Seve years on down the road; sunny days in the sun shine states but every day, she feels so cold. What happened to her great escape?
Seven years ago was such a bad idea; seven years of waste.

And now she's just about out of smack and patience, wishin' out loud; "Would someone save this girl? And take her to a better world."

She's gonna go back home tonight. Couldn't run from the girl she was but now she knows, she'll be alright. She finally gave up the race. So she called her Dad on a borrowed phone, the tears streamed down his face..

He said "I was just about out of hope a patience, wishing some day I'd see your face again. And there's no need to cry, or try to make me understand why. Just come home, it's okay; 'cause everybody makes mistakes."
